The Life of Chuck (film)
The storyboard is simple, but is told in a reverse way to unlock the unknowns. Not to mention it's encouraging. Strongly recommended!

Materialists — why love is easier than what we think, and dating is more risky than we expect.
When I was studying sociology in university, I learned a term called commodification, an idea of how capitalism works that even humans can be a commodity trying to "be sold successfully” to make a living. The latest movie Materialists focuses on love and marriage.

Savages (film)
Savage, according to Oxford Dictionary, is "a member of a people regarded as primitive and uncivilized". It is a plural noun. The movie shows a group of savages. But, who are savages? Those who live in the forest or those who are carrying out deforestation and urbanisation?

When the Light Breaks
It was the first time for me to watch Icelandic movie. When the Light Breaks is only 82 minutes long, which talks about the grief of a group of young people after their (boy)friend died in an explosion in a tunnel, when he (Diddi) was heading to the airport flying west to break up with his current girlfriend, Klana, so that he can continue his relationship with another girl he really loves, Una.

Parthenope (film)
If you watch the trailer of Parthenope, you may think that it's just a very typical film talking about a beautiful girl who has comparative advantages and popularity in society. The movie, in fact, is about humanity from the point of view of the girl's life.

Four Mothers
Four Mothers is an Irish movie about an author called Edward who recently published a fiction about two men reflecting some current social structures. His publisher wants to arrange him for a book tour in the US.
The comedy movie also reveals some social phenomena that I can think of.

Mickey 17 - we can choose to create a better world
I am about to publish an article about the boundaries of how to use technology, but I think I need to talk about a movie I just watched first: Mickey 17, which is a quite relevant.

On Becoming a Guinea Fowl
On Becoming a Guinea Fowl was a movie watched December last year. It’s a story which begins with the body of Shula's uncle Fred found by Shula, who is a girl from a middle-class family (living in a big house, having her own Benz car as well as international social connections), bringing about the issues of unfair male-dominated societies and traditions in Zambia.
On Falling
Watched a movie called On Falling. A 104-minute movie about a Portuguese woman who comes to Scotland, UK alone and works in a warehouse, reflecting real life of many immigrants.
